WANTED Dead or Alive: Fear Of Success!

Happy Monday LyfeChat Luvs! Question of the day is, “Do you have a fear of success?” Now I’m sure some of you may be wondering, well how do you have a fear of success? Better yet why would you? Well…Let me explain.

First off let me tell you what fear of success means. It means you’re afraid to do better; granted you may know better, there’s this feeling in your gut that won’t allow you to take the limits off and risk your “temporary happiness” for total success because you’ve never experienced it. I’m sure you’ve heard the term, “The fear of the unknown”, well it’s true! People are afraid of the unknown, afraid of leaving their nest of comfort. They don’t care to know anything more than their normal routine and to be honest a lot of people are terrified of what they don’t understand. Take a person that’s been incarcerated for more than half of their life, when they come home they’re more terrified of being home than they are of being behind bars! Why? Because they’ve become immune to that lifestyle and anything other than that is absurd. Right now so many people are prisoners in their own mind! Afraid to venture out to see all that the world has to offer because they are afraid to fail.

Well, I have good news for you! Having a fear of success is NOT incurable! You can remove that prisoner way of thinking by doing 3 simple things!

1. Reflect: Take a moment to reflect on where you are in life. Make a list of the things/people that hinder you from being successful. Some of the things you have cluttered up in your “comfort zone” closet.
2. Renew: Find literature, audios and books on success and retrain your mind to start off with a positive versus a negative mindset.
3. Regroup: Apply what you gained from renewing your mind. Have faith that with God there are NO limits and start utilizing that now motivated, positive and driven mind of yours!
